In The Dark

I’m lying in the bath listening to Baroque music and drinking champagne. It’s what I do to relax. My bathroom light flickers on and then cuts out. I climb out of the bath. At the end of my hall, shining from my bedroom door, is a green light. I’m prepared for this, I’ve studied the possibilities— 

In The Dark is a hyperreal portrait of contemporary Australia. Influenced by the paranoid tone of the Australian New Wave film genre, we interrogate our difficult, yet necessary, relationship to power structures and the changing function and experience of social identity during a crisis. This show was part of La Mama Theatre’s Exploration Season, during which we developed the enigmatic comedy duo Trudy Wigs & Patricia Pebbles (who may well make a cheeky comeback!).
